April 2009 - We bought a house in Terrace

This April we bought a house here in Terrace. It needed a little TLC, but luckily Ryan is good at building houses and doing renovations. With a little luck, and a lot of hard work (plus one very busy spring/summer) we did the renovations and made this house our home.

This is the day we took posession of the house!
To explain the chainsaw in the picture, Ryan is about to cut a big ugly tree down in our front yard.

During our reno's we had a huge dumpster parked in our driveway for a month. We were throwing old carpet out through bedroom windows, tearing out the bathroom, cutting down trees, and digging up the yard. The first month was such a mess, I am sure the neighbours were wondering if we would ever be done.

This was the old bathroom before we tore it out. Notice the beautiful harvest gold fixtures, pink counter tops and seashell toilet seat. Just a few "nice" touches to the already dated house.

Ryan hard at work in the bathroom. It already looks better than it did before.
During this time one of the water pipes "accidentally" got cut through (while the water to the house was still on) and we had water spraying everywhere. Both Ryan and I were yelling and running around the house trying to shut the water off and turn the tap on outside to divert the water.
Of course some of our neighbours happended to be standing out side at the time. Watching and laughing.... Leave it to us to leave a good first impression with people!

We had an excavator come in and dig up some of the foundation around the garage.

Derek putting up some support for our house while we were missing the garage and foundation.

Me helping cut down the big ugly tree/bush in front of our house.
Okay, I'll admit it.... Ryan did most of the work on that one.
